EXPERIENCE
Environmental Engineer Oct.'95 to present
Davis & Floyd Inc., Greenwood, SC
Currently involved in updating SPCC plans for various industries in accordance
to new EPA regulations.
Prepared SWPP Plans for various industries in accordance to the stormwater
NPDES permit requirements.
Prepared wastewater NPDES permit packages for various industries for submission
to state regulatory agencies.
Conducted asbestos surveys and prepared O & M plans for various state and
local agencies in accordance to OSHA, AHERA, and ASHARA regulations.
Performed an audit for an industry to verify if all chemicals used in a facility
have current MSDS’s. Designed and updated a MS Access database to store
MSDS information.
Performed groundwater statistical analyses, using MS Excel, Chem Stat and Chem
Point software, on groundwater data for various county landfills in the state.
Prepared Environmental Assessments for SCDOT. This involved doing a number
of analyses to identify and quantify probable impacts on the environment. The
analyses included
Endangered species assessment,
locating and quantifying (acreage) wetlands and flood plains
Water quality assessment,
Farmland assessment,
Hazardous waste assessment,
Noise analysis using the software TNM 2.0, and
Section 4(f) analysis
Conducted a number of bench scale as well as pilot studies for the removal
of various industrial pollutants from industrial wastewater. These include
operating bench scale SBR processes for COD removal, conducting jar tests for
the removal of metals and solids by chemical precipitation, conducting bench
scale tests for the removal of algi, and operating a pilot plant for the removal
of COD using Ozone.
Served as a field engineer for an on-site pilot plant study. This project involved
construction, management and operation of two pilot plants for the biological
removal of phosphorus and nitrogen from domestic wastewater, namely the Bardenpho
process and the A2/O process.
Prepared Operations & Maintenance manuals for a large wastewater plant.
Designed a searchable Document Management System that included storing the
O & M information on a compact disc.
Developed an Environmental Project Information Database using SQL Server and
Visual Basic 6.0. The project involved design of database, forms for data entry
and reports on stored data. This software is currently being used to maintain
accounts and client information pertaining to each project.
Developed a database, for a wastewater treatment plant, using MS Excel and
MS Access. Excel is used for data storage, data manipulation and data analyses.
Data entry forms were developed in MS Access. The application provides for
plotting graphs using queries and forms.
Graduate Research Assistant Aug.'92 to May'95
Department of Environmental Systems Engineering, Clemson University, Clemson,
SC
Operated and evaluated the performance of anaerobic fluidized bed biological
reactors.
Studied the anaerobic biodegradability and toxicity of various compounds.
Studied the robustness of the fluidized bed bio-reactors against organic shock
loads.
Established the kinetic parameters for the degradation of ethylene glycol and
acetaldehyde by an anaerobic consortium.
Developed a simple model to predict the response of an anaerobic system, to
organic shock loads.
Environmental Engineer June’90 to July'92
State Pollution Control Federation, India
Evaluated the performance of various industrial waste treatment facilities.
Graduate Research Assistant Aug.'89 to May.'91
Department of Civil Engineering, Regional Engineering College, Warangal, India
Completed a Thesis titled "Evaluation of performance of rotating biological
(rope) contactors".
Designed and operated rotating biological contactors.
Professional Certifications
Successfully completed asbestos inspector and asbestos management planner courses
