EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE
CITY OF SAINT ALBANS, Saint Albans, Vermont. 01/04 to present.
Water Treatment Plant Operator. Operate and maintain both conventional and
direct filtration water treatment plants. Perform daily water analyses and
recordkeeping duties, Maintain and repair equipment, including pumps, valves,
filters, and laboratory instruments. Monitor water treatment process for
quality and compliance with state and federal regulations. Identify treatment
process problems and make process changes to insure optimum finished water
quality. Currently hold a State of Vermont Class 4-C, OIT license and a NEWWA
Backflow Device Inspection Certification.
IBM ESSEX JUNCTION, Essex Junction, Vermont. 10/00 to 7/03.
Engineering Process Technician. As CVD and RIE process technician, responsible
for improving and maintaining process controls; deploying defect reduction
protocols; developing monitor rework processes; and qualifying reduced flow
deposition chamber cleans (C2F6 and NF3) to reduce PFC emissions and process
chemical consumption. Other duties included providing SEM, EDX, and other
data to maintenance personnel to facilitate tool repairs; responding to manufacturing
inquiries; and working with design engineers to develop processes for new
technologies, with an emphasis on manufacturability.
CLANCY ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS, INC., St. Albans, Vermont. 11/95 to 10/00.
Staff Scientist. Performed analyses supporting filtration and deactivation
research for Giardia lamblia and Cryptosporidium parvum. Assisted in challenge
studies of various filtration systems and disinfection devices both in the
laboratory and in the field. Performed microscopic particulate analyses to
evaluate filtration plant performance and surface water influences on groundwater.
Performed other analyses, as needed, including those for total and fecal
coliform, heterotrophic plate counts, and zebra mussels. Prepared media,
stains, etc. ICR-approved (Information Collection Rule) analyst for Giardia
lamblia and Cryptosporidium parvum. Served as company’s liaison to
utilities to assure their compliance with EPA regulations regarding protozoan
and virus monitoring. Maintained QC database and submitted to EPA on monthly
basis. Trained utility personnel on EPA protozoan monitoring method as well
as experimental protozoan detection and viability assays.
ANALYTICAL SERVICES, INC., Williston, Vermont. 10/94 to 11/95.
Staff Scientist/Quality Control Officer. Provided assistance to laboratory
personnel for analyses of Giardia lamblia, Cryptosporidium parvum, and total
coliform bacteria. Served as company liaison to regulatory/certifying agencies.
Reorganized and maintained laboratory quality control/quality assurance program
for total coliform analysis certification. Provided clients with customer
service, including information on proper sampling equipment and techniques
and EPA compliance.
OTTER CREEK RIVER WATCH, Middlebury, Vermont. 6/95 to 8/95.
Microbiologist. Performed E.coli bacteria and total phosphorus analyses on
river water samples for seasonal river watch group. Maintained QC and provided
instruction and equipment to volunteers.

10/94.
Temporary Laboratory Technician. Provided all-around support to scientists
in the chemistry and microbiology laboratories. Other responsibilities included
