Operations Engineering Technician Go Back Company: Golden State Water Company Job Location: Four California locations: Rancho Cordova, San Dimas, Gardena, or Anaheim Salary Range:   $39,766 - $51,767 - $63,767 per year Job Category: Water Utility - Engineering Job Responsibilities: This position is accountable for providing assistance to the Operations Engineer. Some of the responsibilities include collection, organization, archiving, and distribution of engineering and operations records including system maps, water supply statistics, and fire flow records. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Assist Operations Engineer in identifying operational changes that will improve service and improve system efficiency. • Assist in preparation of system wide and plant specific operational memos including plant site plans, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), and schematics. • Assist in preparation of technical reports as requested by operations. • Prepare Fire Flow Test Reports and maintain fire flow data. • Assist the Operations Engineer in responding to substructure requests. • Assist with updating of system maps, as needed. • Assist with CAD drawings or As-Builts for simple, expedited jobs (e.g. fire hydrant, fire services, etc.) • Communicate (verbal and written) in the English language with appropriate stake holders. • Assist in organizing and maintaining engineering files. • Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: • High School diploma or equivalent. • Two years of experience in engineering design and/or field installation of water distribution and or supply facilities, or a college degree in engineering or related field. • Effective written/verbal communication skills and the ability to read system maps. • Computer skills including CAD, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics and databases. • May include but not limited to standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping and crouching, sitting, typing, walking, reading, writing, color determination, speaking and listening for extended periods of time.
