Water Resources Control Engineer Go Back Company: California Regional Water Quality Control Board Job Location: Victorville, CA Salary Range:   $4,953 - $7,617 per Job Category: Regulatory - Engineering Job Responsibilities: The Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board has a permanent full-time opening in Victorville for a Water Resources Control Engineer. DUTIES: Under the direction of a Senior Engineering Geologist within the Victorville office, the incumbent will review technical documents; review design criteria for waste treatment units and perform engineering evaluations to determine if the units comply with applicable requirements and standards; inspect permitted facilities and review discharge monitoring reports to determine compliance with waste discharge requirements; draft correspondence and waste discharge requirements and respond to related inquiries; prepare enforcement orders; investigate spills and participate in meetings with government agencies and the public. Minimum Requirements: Proficient in oral and written communications; able to conduct site inspections within the Region. Desirable Qualifications: Effective interpersonal skills; ability to organize and work independently while handling multiple assignments; ability to work well with other disciplines; use principles of environmental, chemical, sanitary, and civil engineering as they relate to the treatment of wastes; working knowledge of site investigation and remedial technology and hydrogeological investigation principles; knowledge of State and Regional Board regulations and policies; knowledge of computers with experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Access; and a Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering would be desirable.
