Job Responsibilities: The Corporate Resources Group, Engineering Services Section, currently has
one (1) opening for a Junior Engineer in the Engineering Systems Planning Unit within the Hydraulics Team.
This is an entry-level professional civil engineering position. A Junior Engineer performs work where assignments are made
in specific terms under direct supervision. The assignments for this position include: preparing hydraulic plan
and profiles for distribution system and treatment plants; preparing hydraulic studies/reports; preparing inundation
maps; preparing dewatering profiles; preparing hydrology reports, working with member agencies, field
investigations, and other assignments as needed.
The functions of this classification include, but are not limited to:
Performs or assists in research, drafting, computing, checking and field work needed in the preparation of plans, designs, estimates, and specifications for the construction, maintenance and operation of a wide variety of projects.
Applies theories and principles of engineering to established criteria and to perform engineering design.
Prepares, maintains and reports statistical, technical or analytical engineering related data.
Reviews and analyzes various correspondence, analyses, reports and other material prepared by others for verification of accuracy and completeness. Reviews or prepares abstract or extract for relevant content.
Performs other related work as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an appropriate field of engineering; OR
Successful completion of the California Engineer-In-Training examination.
