Job Responsibilities: The ideal candidate is an experienced, highly motivated individual capable of creative, out of the
box thinking when designing environmental water resource solutions for our clients, managing the design, construction, and operation
of water and wastewater infrastructure systems. Specific experience is required in the areas of water and wastewater
treatment design, process design, controls and instrumentation, improvement plans, specification preparation and technical report writing.
Challenging work with emphasis on natural systems approach and environmental sensitivity for municipal improvements involving creative and advanced engineering design.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Competent Engineer in all conventional aspects of the subject matter of the functional area of the
assignment plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods.
Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modifications and extensions of theories, precepts, and practices of his/her field and related sciences and disciplines.
Devises new approaches to problems encountered.
Performs work that involves conventional engineering materials and difficult coordination requirements.
Requires a broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and a good knowledge of principles of related specialties.
Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with emphasis in water resources from an accredited 4-year university required; Master's degree preferred in fields of civil engineering or the physical sciences.
Hold current registration in the State of California upon employment.
7-10 years of related experience.
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional organizational and writing skills
Technical skill in physical, biological and chemical water and wastewater treatment processes
Design of water and wastewater pumping and hydraulic systems
Basic understanding of business processes
Ability to be effective with limited supervision
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Ability to interface with all levels of employees, managers and officers
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to read, analyze and interpret industry-specific business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers and clients.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Ability to exercise good judgment
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to be receptive and adaptive to change.
