Job Responsibilities: This position is a Chemical/Chemistry Engineering Technical Scientist
responsible for developing and documenting testing protocols, data quality assurance, and baseline data
maintenance. Typical responsibilities include: developing standards and guidelines that are in line with
standards to ensure the effectiveness and longevity of all water treatment processes; monitoring and
recommending changes to Nuclear and non-Nuclear station chemistry performance; providing engineering
recommendations for multiple water systems; providing chemistry testing and recommendations for multiple
plant water systems; providing training to Department staff and field personnel; providing backup
management of Department in the absence of the lab manager; remaining responsible for design change practices and
configuration control at generation facilities; and performing other duties and responsibilities as required. This
position will require occasional travel to sites around the Edison territory.
Minimum Requirements: The successful candidate must possess a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, or Chemical Engineer, or equivalent combination
of education, training, and experience. Possess a minimum of three years experience in laboratory and chemical engineering work, performing water chemistry analysis.

Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with: nuclear, fossil fueled, and hydro generating facility operations and
plant water chemistry and environmental permitting requirements; conducting chemistry testing and providing recommendations for
water chemistry technical issues; providing training on chemistry issues. Demonstrated ability to: effectively perform a
wide variety of both technical and non-technical assignments, and develop task/project scope with minimal initial
information. Work collaboratively with others; complete multiple tasks concurrently under time constraints; perform analyses of technical
problems, recommend solutions, and identify and implement process improvements. Well developed oral presentation and written communication
skills. Possess strong interpersonal communications skills for building relationships and interacting with various organizations and individuals
at all levels, including senior engineering management. Proficient with computer applications, such as Word and Excel. Recognized
as an expert in power plant water production processes and chemistry.
