What is Job Reservoir?
Job Reservoir is a comprehensive job clearinghouse for the water and wastewater industry. Employers are charged for posting available job listings. Job seekers can use the service without any charge.
What geographic area is covered by Job Reservoir postings?
Job Reservoir will accept job postings from all over the U.S. We organize the job postings by geographic area to help job seekers zero in on available positions in their area.
I'm an employer and I want to post a job. How do I post one?
The best way to post a job is to click on the "Post a Job!" link found on our home page. It is located on the left-hand side of the page in the shaded area. From there, fill out our online form and arrange a form of payment.
How much does it cost to post a job?
During our introductory offer period, the fee for posting a job ad is $100 per job. Job postings remain on our site for 45 days. Job postings for multiple positions are required to pay the fee for each position posted.
Job Reservoir rates are considerably less than placing an ad in a local newspaper and less than posting a job listing with a site such as Monster.com -- and they don't reach the specialized audience that we do.
There are special rates for non-governmental non-profit organizations and regulatory agencies (50% off introductory and regular rates).
I have jobs to fill. Why should I use your service?
Job Reservoir is linked directly to a free e-mail newsletter, safedrinkingwater.com NEWS, which each week is sent directly to a rapidly growing subscriber list of over 6200 top-level national and international water professionals. These people are a superb pool of applicants for your positions! We will not pester our newsletter readers with direct information on the service, but they will be see a link to Job Reservoir in the newsletter each week. Job Reservoir will continue to be aggressively marketed to a nationwide audience of public and private employers as well as potential job applicants.
In addition, the service is virtually instantaneous. Job postings will be on the Web within 24 hours of receipt of your job announcement material and payment confirmation.
Finally, Job Reservoir is economical. Posting a job for an important position in one local newspaper can cost $1000 for a few days. Some professional organizations charge $500 to $1000 per posting. One on-line job service recently announced that they would be developing a service that would cost employers over $3200 for the same 45-day posting. A special service from the same site could cost $6400 for 45 days.
I am looking for a job. Can I post my resume?
Yes. Visit our home page and click on "Post a Resume". You will be given instructions and limitations on posting your resume. Fill out the form and your resume will be automatically posted in a chronological listing. Resume postings are kept active for 60 days. There is no charge for posting your resume.
I am looking for a job and I have found a couple of interesting postings. Do I contact the employer or do you?
You are responsible for locating the jobs that you think fit your skills and then contacting the potential employer. All job postings have contact information containing some or all of the following information: contact and company name, addresses, phone, fax and email.
Are there special considerations for recruiters?
At Job Reservoir, we're trying to help out anyone who is recruiting for positions. In the interest of good relations, we have a few basic guidelines all recruiters posting jobs must follow:
- Please identify yourself as a recruiter within your posting.
- Be up front with our readers, no bait and switch, and no other dishonest or misleading tactics. We're here to help each other out!
My company is having a job fair/open house and we want to let everyone know about it. Can we post that information?
Company-specific job fair or open house postings are allowed. These will be in the form of text ads or banner ads. See our Advertising Rates for more information.
Can I include a link to our organization's job page in my job posting?
You can link to your home page or to a page where folks can apply for the same job you have advertised on Job Reservoir. We do not allow links that lead to a list of all jobs available in your organization.
I have three positions to fill in our treatment plant and want to post one ad for all of them - can I do that?
We don't allow employers to post more than one job description per job posting. As a rule of thumb, posting titles should be singular, not plural.
I cannot figure out which Job Category to check for my job. I am looking for a welder who will do chemical analyses and also do clerical work. What do I do?
You may want to redefine the job responsibilities of your welder. Choose the category that seems closest. You can always request that we create another category. Remember that your job postings will also be listed geographically and chronologically.
What methods of payment do you accept?
For your convenience, we offer the following methods of payment:
- Invoice by E-mail
On the "Post a Job" page, fill in the job details as normal. On the following payment details page, select "Option 1" and enter the e-mail to which the invoice should be sent, and the purchase order number if applicable. The job will be posted and the invoice will be sent within one business day. The terms of the electronic invoice are "payment upon receipt." Prompt payment will ensure no service interruptions for the job posting. Providing a purchase order number is recommended, but we realize that not all organizations work off of a purchase order system.
- Invoice by Regular Mail
On the "Post a Job" page, fill in the job details as normal. On the following payment details page, select "Option 2" and enter the mailing address to which the invoice should be sent, and the purchase order number if applicable. The job will be posted within one business day, and the invoice will be sent shortly thereafter. The terms of the invoice are "payment upon receipt." Prompt payment will ensure no service interruptions for the job posting. Providing a purchase order number is recommended, but we realize that not all organizations work off of a purchase order system.
We are in the process of developing a robust, user-friendly, and secure method for accepting payments by credit card on the Job Reservoir site. We hope to have this availabe for our customers soon.
I work for a water utility that is non-profit. Can my company get the lower job-posting rate?
No. Sorry. The reduced job-posting rate is for two kinds of organizations -- regulatory agencies and non-governmental, non-profit organizations. Regulatory agencies are pretty easy to categorize. These include USEPA and all state water and wastewater regulatory agencies. In California, this would include the California Department of Health Services, CalEPA, the State Water Resources Control Board and Regional Water Quality Control Boards that exist all over the State.
Non-governmental, non-profit organizations are meant to include associations like the Association of California Water Agencies, Water and Wastewater Equipment and Manufacturers Association, WaterReuse Association and the American Water Works Association. Other non-profit organizations would include the Ford Foundation, Sierra Club, NRDC and National Water Research Institute. If you belong to an organization that wants to post jobs and you are not sure which category you fall into, send us an email at info@jobreservoir.com.
